A painting by my late father, James Field. He was an artist and illustrator with a passion for history. Below is the accompanying text he wrote at the time:
On 7th May 1918 John Gurdon and Anthony Thornton in one RAF 22 Squadron Bristol Fighter and Alfred Atkey and Charles Gass in another, take on twenty plus German single seat fighters.
