A painting by my late father, James Field. He was an artist and illustrator with a passion for history. Below is the accompanying text he wrote at the time:
Towards the end of the Second World War Short 'Empire' flying boats were handed over to BOAC. They carried civilian registration over their camouflage scheme. Here we see G-AFGZ flying into a dramatic sunset over the ocean.
