Copied

A painting by my late father, James Field. He was an artist and illustrator with a passion for wildlife. Below is the accompanying text he wrote at the time:

Awarded 'Highly Commended' in the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation 'Wildlife Artist of the Year 2011' competition.

A Cinereous Vulture (Aegypius monachus) surveys its territory in the Pyrenees. Although this old world vulture is found across a huge range, from Portugal to Korea, populations have seriously declined in recent times. However in the last few years breeding and re-introduction schemes are helping to increase numbers.
