A painting by my late father, James Field. He was an artist and illustrator with a passion for history and wildlife. Below is the accompanying text he wrote at the time:
A most unusual South American Theropod from the Late Cretaceous, Carnotaurus (flesh-bull) has a very deep short skull with pronounced horns over each eye. Its arms were also remarkably short and stubby with four-fingered hands. Skin impressions show that Carnotaurus was covered with bony nodules surrounded by rough skin with large folds around the neck.
